Resembles the effect of a fractional laser, creating thermal microinjuries in the tissue. The goal is to protect the epidermis and deposit the greatest amount of energy (heat) in the deeper layers of the skin to stimulate collagen formation, while leaving adjacent areas intact, which speeds up tissue regeneration.

Both types of radiofrequency focus on stimulating collagen production. Non-ablative diathermy RF is applied through multiple passes of electrodes of different sizes over the skin and is indicated as a complementary treatment for cellulite, localized fat and skin laxity. Fractional Radiofrequency is applied through microneedles in order to deposit a greater amount of energy (heat) in the deeper layers to stimulate collagen formation.
The results can be compared to those of the Fractional CO2 Laser, but with greater safety in the aesthetic field.
The tips are single-use and for one patient only, and must be discarded after use.
Because gold has higher conductivity (it conducts electrical current better) and is more hypoallergenic, meaning there is less chance of allergies.
Fractional RF electrodes have different depths, which can range from 0.5 mm to 3.0 mm on the fractional tip, while on the linear tip the depth is 1.5 mm.
It has a carrier frequency of 650 kHz. The power will depend on a few factors, such as distance, the density of the electric arc and tissue impedance.
The Safe Needle tip produces more controlled energy with a high concentrating capacity, compared with the Stick Tip, which causes a more superficial lesion.
Plasma rain occurs through the ionization of the gas located inside the tip, which helps maintain the electric field between the electrode and the skin.
Amplitude defines the field potential for ionization of atmospheric air: the greater the amplitude, the greater the distance possible for arc formation. Density corresponds to the length of time the plasma arc remains active. In this way, the dose of thermal energy produced in the tissue can be limited and precisely controlled. OFF time is related to the total duration of the procedure. The longer the interval time, the longer the time needed for the procedure.
